On October 15, 2004, the physically imposing Wright attended a fifty man, two day event in Venice Beach, California, where eight finalists would be chosen. Wright survived the first day of eliminations, but on the second day he admitted under interrogation that he was not thirty, as he had previously maintained, but was in fact forty.

African-american
Heavyweight
from OVW

Debut: Smackdown in December 2005

6' 2", 255 pounds
BORN: 1964
NICKNAMES: "Liar" Marty Wright

Gimmick: heart on a rope around his neck...his face is all red with black poka dots...and around eyes....scary stuff

Trivia:
The worms are real and he does put them into his mouth.. and chews on them...If he swallows them I don't think it is on purpose....but, may have happened. the Boogeyman is 41 years old...he was born in 1964

In October 2004, 40-year-old Marty Wright attempted to become part of Tough Enough IV. He attended the two-day preliminaries that took place in Venice Beach, California, which was attended by 50 competitors. During the second day of the event, he revealed that he was, in fact, ten years older that he was portraying himself to be and was quickly disqualified. A month later he was signedto a 3 year contract on at WWE. sent to Ohio for training.

OVW turned his lying about his age for Tough Enough into a gimmick, claiming he had a history of psychological problems and had been in prison for bodily assault.
He dubbed himself the Boogeyman

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Wright's teeth were knocked out during a training match in 2005. (This is largely disputed however).
The worms he eats are real, as seen in the episode of Smackdown! on December 16th 2005.
The term "Bottomless Pit" came from the Barringer meteor crater in Winslow, Arizona.
